Long-term business partner Francis Chisholm becomes majority shareholder 

February 15, 2024 – (Dartmouth, N.S.) – Floors Plus is pleased to announce it is under new ownership and has successfully completed an intercompany succession plan with long-term business partner Francis Chisholm acquiring the majority shares from Larry and Patricia Gibson. 

“I have worked with the Gibsons building the Floors Plus Group of Companies for the past 30 years and it’s an honour to continue the legacy,” stated Francis Chisholm, the new owner of Floors Plus Group of Companies. “The name Floors Plus has become synonymous with trust and reliability in flooring and interior finishes. I am committed to upholding this reputation and serving homes and businesses across the Maritimes.” 

Headquartered in Dartmouth, N.S., Floors Plus was originally established in 1988 as a commercial flooring business focused on healthcare, education, and offices. It has since evolved into providing residential and commercial flooring services and interior finishes and now has showrooms located strategically in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Renowned for its expertise in the healthcare sector, Floors Plus has built a strong reputation for quality and reliability for the diverse groups of customers it serves. 

Floors Plus Group of Companies includes Capital Installation and Dantra Specialty Products. Dantra offers hygienic floor and wall solutions and has completed projects in hospitals, schools, laboratories, and manufacturing facilities around the globe. 

Reflecting on their tenure, Larry Gibson, former owner of Floors Plus, remarked, “It has been a pleasure to serve our customers over the past 36 years. The ownership transition was finalized in late 2023, with ownership now residing under the holding company, FiddleHead Flooring and Specialty Group.
